The Coudenhove- Kalergi is an extraordinary family. German-Bohemian aristocrats originally from the Netherlands.  They moved to Bohemia during the Napoleonic Wars. They are related to a great lineage belonging to the former Danube monarchy. There is something even more interesting about them: they are a family with unusual life stories- multifaceted biographies which mirror the European history of 20th century.

The matriarch of today’s family is Barbara Coudenhove-Kalergi, the grande dame of Austrian journalism. Barbara worked for many years as a correspondent for ORF in Eastern Europe. In 1989, she became head of the ORF office in Prague.

The story is narrated from the viewpoint of Barbara Coudenhove-Kalergi and her family.
